You can move your PodOmatic podcast over to Podbean in one step.

After you create a Podbean account,  simply go to “Publish” in your Podbean dashboard and click on “Import RSS”. You will enter your PodOmatic feed url there and the tool will automatically begin migrating your podcasts (titles and text will migrate immediately, audio and video files will take about 15-30 minutes to load).

If you already have an RSS feed with an active show setup in iTunes and are migrating to Podbean, you will need to update the feed iTunes is pulling from so that they pull from your Podbean feed. iTunes support changing your RSS podcast feed url by using the <itunes:new-feed-url> tag .

If PodOmatic  supports <itunes:new-feed-url> tag ,you will need to make the change at your current feed (PodOmatic), not within Podbean. The feed will need to be modified to include the following tag
?Make sure to replace "yourPodbeanSubdomain" with your actual Podbean account subdomain.):

Moreover, We suggest you make an announcement on your PodOmatic podcast site to notify your subscribers of your move to Podbean, with the new feed url so that they can re-subscribe to your Podbean podcast feed on your Podbean site or in iTunes. If possible, you should leave your PodOmatic account active and for at least a month, to help ensure the information gets to most of your users.

If PodOmatic does not support <itunes:new-feed-url> tag, then the best way to change your feed in itunes is to do the following:

a. Resubmit your NEW podcast feed to iTunes using a slightly different name (to be changed back after it’s approved).

b. 30 days before you quit uploading to PodOmatic, create two versions of your podcast episodes: one normal and one that will have an announcement at the beginning of the show that says, “If you are hearing this, you will not receive the new episodes after xxx date. I am moving the feed and the new feed is available at <your Podbean website address>.” Make sure you have your RSS feed available on your website and/or in your post for each episode. Also put the announcement at the end of the podcast episode.

c. Upload the “normal” episode to your Podbean hosting account and publish.

d. Upload the “announcement version” to PodOmatic and publish.

e. After 30 days (or four episodes) make one more that says, “This feed has moved. Please continue to listen to the show, go to <your Podbean web address here> and re-subscribe.”

f. Upload and publish to PodOmatic.

We suggest you leave your PodOmatic account active for at least 30 days to make sure your listeners know the change. If you are using the free version of PodOmatic, leave it for longer.
