Apple Podcasts is one of the most popular podcast directories, and getting your podcast listed there can help increase visibility and attract more listeners. This step-by-step guide provides all the information you need to successfully submit your podcast. Follow these instructions to ensure your podcast meets Apple’s requirements and gets listed in the Podcasts app and on the Apple Podcasts website.

Step 1. Prepare Your Podcast for Submission

Before submitting your podcast to Apple Podcasts, make sure your podcast meets Apple Podcasts requirements. For a detailed guide, go to your Podbean podcast dashboard > Distribution > Podcast Apps > Apple Podcasts.

Make sure that your podcast meets the following conditions:

  • Podcast Title & Description: Provide a unique podcast title and a clear description.
  • Podcast Logo: Upload an original logo with dimensions between 1400 x 1400 and 3000 x 3000 pixels, in JPG or PNG format.
  • Category: Select at least one relevant podcast category.
  • Episodes: Published at least one episode in Apple Podcasts' supported file format.
  • Language: Set the language for your podcast.

Step 2.  Submit to the Apple Podcasts directory

To submit your podcast, you need an active Apple ID. If you don’t have one, you can create a free Apple ID on Apple’s website. If you already have one, sign in to Apple Podcasts Connect.

Go to Apple Podcasts Connect

  1.  Log in with your Apple ID credentials.

  2. Click the ”+” symbol next to Podcasts on the top left of the screen.

  3. Select New Show and then choose Add a show with an RSS feed.

  4. Paste your RSS feed URL into the field provided.
You can check your podcast feed in your Podbean account by going to the podcast dashboard > Distribution > Podcast Apps > Apple Podcasts > Step 2.

  5. Apple Podcasts Connect will display your podcast details. Review everything to ensure the title, description, artwork, and other information are correct.

  6. Set Content Rights & Provide Contact Information
    • Indicate whether your podcast contains third-party content (e.g., copyrighted material). If it does, confirm that you have the proper rights to use it.
    • Enter your contact information. This information is kept private and allows Apple Podcasts to reach you if there are any issues with your podcast.
  7. Save and Publish
Once all information is confirmed and correct, click Save and then Publish to submit your podcast for review.

Apple will validate your RSS feed and ensure there are no errors. Once your podcast is approved, you’ll receive an email notification confirming that your podcast is now available on Apple Podcasts. Your podcast will be listed in the Apple Podcasts app and the Apple Podcasts website.

Step 3. Save your Apple Podcast URL on Podbean.

Once your podcast is available on Apple Podcasts, you can save your Apple Podcast URL on Podbean.

An Apple Podcasts icon will then be displayed on your podcast website, directing your audience to your Apple Podcasts page and making it easy for them to access your podcast across different apps.
