If you need to update the media file for a published episode, follow these steps:

1. Go to “Episodes” > “Episodes List”. Then, click on the title of the episode you wish to edit. This will open the episode details.

2. In the “Publish Episode” section, click “Edit” on the right side of the media file name.

3. Choose the New Media File: You will see two options to update the media file:

Upload: Upload a new file from your computer.

Select from account: Choose a file from your Podbean account.

Note: To preserve the episode statistics, the new file you upload or select will replace the old one, using the same file name. Please allow a few minutes for the changes to take effect.

4. After uploading or selecting your new media file, click on “Update” to save the changes.

Changes will appear on your podcast website and feed shortly, but may take longer to reflect on third-party directories, such as Apple Podcasts and Spotify, or for listeners with downloaded episodes, depending on their cache and update mechanisms.

Q: Will my episode statistics be affected when I replace the media file?

A: No, your episode statistics will be preserved. The new media file you upload or select will replace the old one, using the same file name.

Q: How long does it take for the changes to take effect?

A: The changes will appear on your podcast website and feed shortly, but they may take longer to reflect on third-party directories such as Apple Podcasts or Spotify. This delay can occur because third-party platforms may cache the episode content, and the updates need to be fetched and processed based on their update schedules. Similarly, listeners who have already downloaded the episode may still have the old file until their app refreshes or updates.
