If you’re not hearing your PodAds campaign ads or content in your podcast as expected, here are a few possible reasons to check first:
1. Check the campaign status
Go to the Campaign Management page to see your campaign’s current status. If the status is “Running”, your campaign is active and the ads should be inserted as expected. If it shows another status, such as “Draft”, “Pending”, or “Removed”, the campaign is not currently active, and the ads will not be played.
2. Check the ad time slots
Please make sure that you have set the ad time slots on your podcast episodes, as campaign ads can only be inserted into episodes where time slots are available.
To view or set the time slots, go to your podcast dashboard, open the Episode List, and click the “Set Ad Time Slots” button.
For example, if your PodAds campaign is set to run mid-roll ads, you need to make sure that mid-roll time slots have been set for the episodes you want the ads to appear in.
To learn more about how to set ad time slots for your podcast, please refer to this guide.
3. Allow time for file processing
If your campaign has just started running, an episode has just been published, or you have just set or changed the ad time slots for an episode, please note that the system needs some time to process the files and insert the ads (usually a few to several minutes).
To ensure everything has been updated, we recommend waiting a few hours before listening and checking for the inserted ads.
4. Cache
If you have previously listened to an episode on a particular device, there may be cached data from before the ad was inserted. For example, if you listened to the episode on Spotify on your mobile device, Spotify app may retain a cached version of the old file.
We recommend trying to listen on a different device, or wait a few hours before checking the episode again to see if the ad has been inserted.
