Podbean’s podcast basic settings let you manage the core information that appears on your podcast site, RSS feed, and podcast directories.


To access these settings, go to Settings > General from your podcast dashboard.



Podbean’s podcast basic settings have two parts:


General


The General section includes the main podcast information listeners and podcast directories use to identify and describe your show, including your podcast title, brief description, category, and logo.


Podcast Title


Create a clear and concise podcast title.


Your podcast title helps listeners understand your show and helps podcast directories display your podcast correctly.


Brief Description


Write a brief podcast description that summarizes your show. 


Podbean supports up to 50,000 characters for the description.


Podcast Category


Select up to 3 podcast categories. 


Note: Apple Podcasts only recognizes the first category and its subcategory.



Set a podcast logo for your podcast.


If you plan to submit your podcast to Apple Podcasts and Spotify, ensure your artwork meets their logo requirements: Artwork must be a minimum size of 1500 x 1500 pixels and a maximum size of 3000 x 3000 pixels, in JPEG or PNG format.



More Options


The More Options section includes additional podcast settings such as your podcast website, author or owner name, language, copyright, country of origin, timezone, podcast type, and episode download link.


Podcast Website


Update your podcast website URL if needed.


Changing this URL will also change your podcast feed URL, so review the related concerns before making the change.

Author / Owner


Enter the podcast author or owner name.


This name appears in your podcast RSS feed and helps podcast apps display the correct creator for your show.



Language


Select the language spoken on your podcast.

Enter your podcast copyright information in this field if your podcast is copyrighted.


This copyright statement will appear in your podcast feed, helping directories, apps, and listeners understand who owns the rights to your podcast content.


Country Of Origin


Choose the country of origin for your podcast.


This setting is included in your podcast feed, and some podcast apps may use it to understand the intended market or territory for your content.


Timezone


Select your podcast timezone.


If you schedule episodes, Podbean uses this timezone for the scheduled publish date and time.


If your country observes daylight saving time, choose the corresponding daylight saving time option.



Podcast Type

Choose the podcast type to control how episodes are sorted on your podcast site and in your podcast RSS feed.


  • Episodic: Episodes display from latest to earliest.
  • Serial: Episodes display from first to last.


Choose whether to show or hide the episode download link.


  • Show: Listeners will see a download button and can save episodes for offline listening.
  • Hidden: The episode download button is removed, and listeners can only stream the content.
