Importing your podcast to Podbean is a simple and hassle-free process. Just follow these easy steps:
Step 1. Import podcast info to Podbean
- Create a Podbean account, you may choose the plan you like.
- Select "Import Existing Podcast" when creating the podcast channel. Or access the “switch to Podbean” page through “Settings”-->“General“, at the bottom of the page, click “Import to Podbean”.
- On the "Switch to Podbean" page, enter your feed URL and click on the 'Import' button to import your podcast to Podbean.
* When importing your podcast to Podbean, you can choose to import the podcast information and Apple Podcast settings directly from the RSS feed or uncheck that option to import only the episode information.
Additionally, you can choose to convert the audio file format to .mp3 during the import process. This is especially useful if you plan to submit your podcast to Spotify through Podbean, as Spotify only accepts podcasts with .mp3 audio files.
Step 2: Direct your old feed to your Podbean feed by implementing a 301 redirect.
To accomplish this, set up a 301 redirect within your previous podcast hosting platform. This redirect will seamlessly guide your audience from the old feed to your new Podbean feed. For detailed instructions on how to carry out this redirect, click here.
Once you've completed the redirect, go to your Podbean dashboard, click on "Settings" and select "General." Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "Import to Podbean." In step 2, make sure to check the option for 301 redirects to ensure a smooth transition.
Podbean will further check the functionality of the 301 redirects and proceed to import your media files to your Podbean media manager. If everything works smoothly during this process, you have successfully completed the necessary steps.
